Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have — including how our text-messaging program works.
Last updated: August 4, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how [Company name], operated by MoveInQuote ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit our website, request a moving quote, communicate with us, or use our services. By using our website or services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Contact information — your name, email address, phone number, and the origin and destination addresses for your move.
- Move details — information you provide about your move: dates, home size, inventory of items, photos or video walkthroughs you upload, access details (stairs, elevators, parking), and any special-handling notes.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full card number; we receive confirmation of payment, the payment method type, and billing details necessary to administer your account.
- Communications — records of your emails, calls, and text messages with us, including your communication preferences and SMS consent status.
- Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and similar analytics data collected through cookies and related technologies (see Section 6).
3. How We Use Your Information
- To prepare, review, and deliver your moving quote.
- To arrange and manage your move, including matching you with the moving company that performs the work.
- To communicate with you about your move — confirmations, schedule updates, tracking links, documents, and receipts.
- To send promotional messages and offers, where you have consented to receive them.
- To process payments and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To improve our website, services, and customer experience.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. SMS / Text Messaging
[Company name] operates a text-messaging program that includes both transactional messages (move updates, appointment reminders, quote and tracking links) and promotional messages (occasional offers). You only receive text messages if you have opted in — by checking the SMS consent box on our quote form or by texting an opt-in keyword to our number.
- No sharing of mobile information. Mobile phone numbers, text-messaging originator opt-in data, and SMS consent are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes — under any circumstances.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Opting out: reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) to any message to stop receiving texts from us. You may receive a single confirmation message. You can opt back in at any time by replying START.
- Help: reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at [Contact email] or [Contact phone].
- Opting out of text messages does not affect essential communications about your move sent by email or phone.
We use Twilio as our SMS delivery provider; Twilio processes message content and phone numbers solely to deliver messages on our behalf.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers (processors) acting on our instructions: Stripe (payment processing), Twilio (SMS delivery), Resend (email delivery), Google (sign-in and mapping/route services), and Cloudflare (website hosting, content delivery, and security). Each processes your information only to provide its service to us.
- Moving companies — when we match you with a partner moving company, we share the move details they need to perform your move (contact information, addresses, dates, inventory). They may not use your information for their own marketing.
- Legal requirements — where required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, customers, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
For clarity, the sharing described above never includes the mobile opt-in data covered in Section 4: your phone number and SMS consent are never disclosed to any third party for that party's marketing.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and to understand how it is used. Where enabled, we use analytics and advertising services such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, and LinkedIn Insight Tag. Analytics and advertising tags run in a consent-aware mode and you can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting records), resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Records of SMS consent and opt-out are retained as long as necessary to honor your preferences and demonstrate compliance. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold — including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
- Access, correction, deletion — you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Marketing opt-out — you can opt out of promotional texts by replying STOP (Section 4) and of promotional emails via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- State privacy rights — depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at [Contact email]. We honor applicable state privacy rights and will verify your identity before acting on a request. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (for example, California) may have additional rights, which we will describe on request.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [Contact email]. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and — for material changes — provide additional notice where required by law.
